Nestled in the heart of California's Gold Country in Auburn, California, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital is a 97-bed acute care hospital that offers a warm welcome to more than 500 babies each year.

To ensure each child's safe and happy arrival, the hospital's Family Birth Center provides classes for parents, comfortable birthing rooms, a dedicated operating room for cesarean births, and a friendly and dedicated medical and nursing staff.

Labor and Delivery

At Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, a child's birth is a family affair where dads and other family members are welcome. The birthing rooms are cozy to provide a tranquil atmosphere, while high-tech equipment is close at hand to ensure the safety of mom and baby.

Pain-Relief Options

Family Birth Center nurses provide skilled, compassionate coaching to help laboring mothers through the birthing process. When labor is longer or more challenging, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital offers pain management options including epidurals, intravenous (IV) narcotics and intrathecal (spinal) narcotics.

Touring the Birthing Center

Expectant families are welcome to tour the Family Birth Center and meet the staff in person every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. No appointment is necessary. To arrange a tour at a different time or with a Spanish-speaking staff member, please call (530) 889-6085.

Access to Specialty Care

While the majority of pregnancies follow a natural course to the joyful delivery of a healthy baby, your choice of Sutter also gives you access to our new state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our new NICU is an extension of the NICU at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento and part of advanced medical care available through Sutter Women's Services. In addition, the neonatology teams of physicians and nurses work collaboratively with our staff to ensure that every single newborn gets the highest level of care in the region.
