    Hospice Thrift Store

    The Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice Thrift Store provides a pleasant shopping experience to the community by selling quality clothes, household items, furniture and books at reasonable prices. As an end result, the thrift store is able to help support local hospice services.

    Hospice is a special way of caring for people with terminal illness and their families. Hospice affirms life and regards dying as a normal process. Care is provided in the home or a homelike setting by a team of volunteers. Funds from the thrift store help Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice assure families that services are available to all those in need.

    The thrift store:

    • offers customers good value and a pleasant shopping experience
    • maximizes the use and value of donated merchandise
    • generates funds to help Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice assist the terminally ill
    • increases community awareness of the hospice philosophy
    DONATIONS*
    The thrift store receives generous donations of clothing and household items from members of the community and local retailers...many of whom previously received hospice services. The store's success depends upon a continuing supply of quality merchandise to sell at reasonable prices.

    Donations can be delivered directly to the store 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mon-Sat and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. Pick-up service for large items is available by contacting the store manager.

    The store welcomes:
    • Clothing for all ages and sizes
    • Kitchenware and linens
    • Books and records
    • Furniture and home accessories

    A tax deductible receipt will be given for all donations.

    *We reserve the right to refuse donations that are not in sellable condition.

    VOLUNTEERS
    The operation of the thrift store is dependent upon volunteers who assist the manager in the daily running of the store. Each volunteer is asked to give a minimum of 4 hours of service per week, and attend a monthly store meeting. Volunteers can be trained in assisting with all aspects of the store's operations.
    Volunteers:

    • Receive donations
    • Sort, prepare, and price merchandise
    • Assist customers
    • Monitor the condition of displays and the sales floor
    • Work with the cash register
    • Assist with special events

    The thrift store also hosts several fundraising and community awareness events each year. Volunteer efforts are necessary for the successful organization of these activities as well. Please join us at our upcoming fashion show on May 3, 2009.
